The Aquarium is scheduled to open to the public in 2021.

In line with the latest decrees issued by the Abu Dhabi authorities, all guests aged 16 years and above, will be required to show proof of full vaccination status or a PCR with validity less than 48 hours on the ‘ALHOSN UAE’ application to enter.

The National Aquarium signed a 5-year partnership with The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi to help create the largest and one of the most innovative rehabilitation schemes of its kind to protect and rehabilitate wildlife in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The Wildlife Rescue Program is a partnership between the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi and The National Aquarium with a mission to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release native wildlife in the Abu Dhabi Emirate.
The turtles rescued will be pre-released in our UAE’s Natural Treasures Zone after going through the designed rehabilitation process. When the temperature of the water drops (Which is normally around May) the turtles will be released back into their homes.
When transporting the animals we consider every aspect of the journey in fine detail. Temperature, Oxygen Supply, length of journey and transport containers are all specified as per the animal’s needs.
All enclosures are built in accordance with the best practice of leading zoos and aquariums around the world. An expert team provides the daily nutrition, medical and enrichment care required and all is as per international standards such as WAZA.
